Thumbs up The Company (mini-series) - Ridley Scott Mini-Series Airs on TNT and Soon on BD!!!!

The Company (mini-series) - Ridley Scott Mini-Series Airs on TNT in August; Comes to DVD & Blu-ray In October

Next Sunday, TNT begins airing a 3-week "event", a mini-series called The Company. This Sony production is adapted by Ken Nolan (Black Hawk Down) from the novel by Robert Littell, about the CIA from its beginnings in "A Divided Germany" in 1954, to "The Hungarian Uprising" in 1956, through "The Bay of Pigs" incident, and on up until "The Fall of the Soviet Union". This docu-drama is brought to you by Executive Producers Ridley Scott, Tony Scott, John Calley and Cary Brokaw, and Co-Executive Producer David W. Zucker.

The stars of The Company are Chris O'Donnell ("Robin", Batman Forever, Batman & Robin; "Finn", Grey's Anatomy), Alfred Molina ("Doctor Octopus", Spider-Man 2; "Satipo", Raiders of the Lost Ark) and Michael Keaton ("Batman", Batman, Batman Returns; "Beetlejuice", Beetle Juice). Don't let the "comic book cast" fool you; this is a serious look at a 40-year span of the U.S.A.'s Central Intelligence Agency. Directing the action is Mikael Salomon, who's been nominated for the Oscar twice, and won an Emmy for "Outstanding Directing for a Miniseries, Movie or a Dramatic Special" for Band of Brothers.

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment is preparing a release of The Company on both DVD and Blu-ray Disc formats, currently targeted for October 23rd. In either format, we're looking at a 2-disc release that contains the entire mini-series, plus bonus features. The nature of those extras is not yet known, but expects some featurettes at the very least. Cost will be $39.95 SRP for the DVD set, and $55.95 SRP for the Blu-ray version.

Stay tuned for cover art and any further details. We don't expect to get those until after the mini-series has finished airing, so check back with us in a few weeks.
