Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End on Blu-ray

Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment is the first to plant its flag in what’s expected to be the most crowded fourth quarter on record, staking out Dec. 4 for the DVD and Blu-ray Disc releases of Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End.

The third film in the Pirates series starring Johnny Depp, Keira Knightly and Orlando Bloom has grossed $946 million globally and is expected to be one of the top sellers on DVD this year. Previous Pirates DVD releases Dead Man’s Chest and Curse of the Black Pearl looted $293.8 million and $298 million, respectively, according to Video Business research. Both also were released the first week of December.

The two-disc 75GB Blu-ray release will include all features on the standard DVD set re-mastered in high-definition plus BD-Java feature Enter the Maelstrom, which gives an interactive peek at the scene. The Jolly Roger host will navigate users through animated menus on the Blu-ray disc.

I wonder if having it on BLu Ray will improve the quality of the movie?

Probably not, it didn't make the first two any better but it should be really good demo material.

Re: Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End Blu-ray

I also heard a boxset was coming out as well for those who haven't bought the first two yet.

As for the film itself, I really didn't think much too it and was a big fan of the first one.

Re: Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End Blu-ray

I'd be interested in the BD boxset, or I'll buy al three at once on BD.

Persoanlly I think they suck, but my fairer half loves them. I think she would enjoy Mr Depp in HD

Re: Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End Blu-ray

worst film in living memory, the overblown overlong climax felt like torture, was a relief to leave the cinema, any one who buys this needs their head examined. As the saying goes you cant polish a turd!

I too have held off buying the first two in the hope that I'll be able to pick up a boxed-set cheaper than the 3 bought seperately.
