Anyone got The Host HD-DVD or BluRay yet?

Just wondered if anyone's received this yet?

Completely forgot it was out this week and going to order from PlayHD.co.uk but just wondered if anyone has it yet on either format?

Haven't seen the film but heard good reports about it, so just wondered what the picture quality and audio quality is like?

got it on bluray, great sound and picture, found the subtitles a bit hard to read at times, that would be my only complaint and a minor one at that !

The HD arrived on Thursday from DVD Pacific. No complaints here.

Has anyone had play back problems with the US HD-DVD? The reason I ask is, the one I bought stuck 3 times during playback. Had to FF a couple of seconds to get it to move on.
Think it maybe a ropey disc, let me know if anyone else has had an issue with it!

I've now tried this disc on 3 HD-DVD players & as stated, it does the same as before! Anybody else having issues with it?

myserfan73 - where did you order it from? Take it the HD-DVD players all have the latest firmware installed?

I ended up changing my order with PlayHD from HD-DVD to BluRay so can't help you out unfortunately.

saw the HD DVD tonight. Brilliant film and excellent transfer. Do yourself a favour though and change from the default dubbed track to the original Korean as the dubbing is absolutely awful.

Watched this last night on HD DVD. Great little movie. Superb A/V quality too. Better than anything Hollywood has done in this genre for ages.

Another vote too for the original Korean soundtrack over the English dub. Miles better.

(although with HD it does highlight some of the poor special effects - but on the whole fantastic )

Agreed. One of the best transfers I've seen with a terrific picture and superb sound mix.
