Shaun Of The Dead - July 31st

Thought I'd start this thread as no-one else seems to have done one. Personally, I can't wait for this one... Looks like July 31st is going to be quite a good day for HD. Shaun of the Dead, Shooter and 300! Next up, Hot Fuzz!!

Quote:
Universal Studios Home Entertainment has announced it will bring the British cult favorite 'Shaun of the Dead' to HD DVD on July 31.

The zombie spoof, conceived by 'Hot Fuzz' cohorts Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright, became a surprise sleeper in the U.S. during its original 2004 theatrical run. But it has since enjoyed an even greater afterlife on video, which should bode well for sales on HD DVD.

Universal will present the film in a 1080p/VC-1 transfer, along with a Dolby Digital-Plus 5.1 surround track (at 1.5mbps).

Extras will mirror the standard-def DVD version, which includes a wealth of "Raw Meat" bonus features: audio commentary with the filmmakers, a director video diary, deleted scenes, outtakes, zombie trivia and more.

Universal has set a $29.98 retail price for 'Shaun of the Dead.'

Love the film. Hate that cover.

Will probably be buying, being the inveterate Pegg-head that I am.

Isn't fandom an expensive thing?

Shaun of the Dead is great. Didn't fancy Hot Fuzz that much though.

Re: Shaun Of The Dead - July 31st

Shaun isn't an impressive HD disk but it's still might fine HD DVD all things considered and not owning the DVD the extras are excellent.

Mines here but still wrapped - does it ONLY have the cast commentary, or are all those from the DVD on there?

Thank you Dr Jones.

Shame it's another HD release worse off than it's DVD sibling

Re: Shaun Of The Dead - July 31st

Yeah the commentary's missing is a bit of a kick in the nads Then again they may be on the UK version.

Pretty sure they weren't on the US DVD.

Picture quality seems excellent at start then went downhill a bit. Still a quality Rom-Zom-Com though
