Re: Total Recall hd

I have the Australian release of this SC transfer.
This is another Studio Canal transfer (the UK release will be of this transfer). It's been placed on Tier 1 over on the AVS Tier thread and it must be said that this transfer is gorgeous, with rich colours and a very clear picture.

(can't comment on whether anything's been cut from the UK release)

Re: Total Recall hd

Is this our territory only currently? I keep up to date with US releases via hidefdigest, is there another site for other releases? I know we have like Harry Potter whereas the US don't. Wikipedia used to have a list but it's been removed.

The large majority of HD DVD releases are from the US. Due to different companies owning movie distribution rights in different parts of the world, we get different films released in the UK, France, Germany, Spain, Australia and Japan. And we also have non-exclusive but country-specific releases, such as HP4 in the UK.

These sites should help with your research:

I have the US Blu ray version of this and it is without doubt the worst transfer in my collection.

Re: Total Recall hd

I have the French version purchased from MT. Both picture and sound are great although 3:2 pulldown is quite noticeable in a few scenes - unless your system can cope with this. Not sure if it's been cut - it seems complete to me.

BTW Is Running Man scheduled for release?

Re: Total Recall hd

I have the Australian version via AxelMusic, and it is not bad at all. As I haven't watched my region 1 DVD in some time I cannot be sure, but I think there must have been at least three short extra scenes or longer scenes in the HD DVD edition. I haven't the patience to do a comparison though and the DVD is consigned to my "updates and duplicates" shelf.
