Availability of Titles: Blu-Ray v/s HD-DVD

Without turning this thread into a flame fest, can people describe their experiences of title availability for the two formats ?

My own experience is that it used to be rare to see a Blu Ray movie disc when you walked into HMV say, now the Blu Ray discs outnumber the HD-DVD discs in certain stores ( Although both have only a pitifuly few titles ).

Does it mean that Blu Ray is catching up ? Or that major companies and stores are pushing Blu Ray harder ?

I have only the XBox360 HD-DVD player hence my investment into HiDef players is not that high, but I do know that people are spending £500 ~ £600 into the players. Just wondering from that perspective too ...

Re: Availability of Titles: Blu-Ray v/s HD-DVD

First I heard HD was outselling BD 3 to 1 - last I heard BD is outselling HD 2 to 1.

It is too early to say who will win the fight though more studios have signed exclusively to BD than HD so that could be an indicator.

I would prefer BD at the mo, though I like HD as well. By summer I will have both.
