Renting Blu-Ray Movies

I am wondering what everyone's opinions are on when blu-ray DVD's will hit rental stores in the UK?

I am trying to decide whether to get an imported (Canadian) PS3 (which is cheaper) or wait until the UK launch date in 2.5 weeks. The problem with getting an import is that the UK blu-ray DVD's wn't play on the machine, which isn't too much of a problem as they are cheap to order from the States, but it would be frustrating if they suddenly became available to rent in the UK and I wasn't able to take advantage of it!

I don't collect DVD's so any Region A blu-ray titles I bought from abroad, I would just end up trying to sell on eBay and I'm not sure how well they'd sell on ebay.co.uk.

Any opinions more than welcome.

Re: Renting Blu-Ray Movies

Go for a US PS3 and order the movies online, sell them on the forums here.

My local Blockbuster is now renting Blu-Ray films, only a small range but still great news!

Checkout this list :

Here

About 70% of UK disks are fine. I rent UK Blu Rays from Lovefilm to play on my Region A PS3.

That is amazing news, thanks for posting!!! I had assumed that I would have to purchase all my blu-rays due to having a US PS3.

Do Lovefilm have all of these to rent? Have you rented many?

paulfoley - Just noticed on that link you provided; it says 'US Produced Blu-ray titles' - are you sure these are the ones lovefilm rent out and not UK versions of them?
