The Prestige on HD-DVD???

Have Play.com got this right? I thought it was a blu-ray only title? Or is this another case of different distributors in Europe?

Re: The Prestige on HD-DVD???

Does anyone know the answer to my thread?
Will the UK version of the Prestige have as good a picture as the US Blu Ray?

Re: The Prestige on HD-DVD???

Will be interesting to see if this is a better transfer than the fabulous Blu Ray one.

Re: The Prestige on HD-DVD???

I imagine that the Warner release HD DVD will have VC1 encoding so should be just as good. The BD release has very good PQ though.

Sound will be interesting though as Warner tend to only give us DD+, whereas the BD release benefits from uncompressed LPCM. I hope they go for a DolbyTrueHD encode.

Re: The Prestige on HD-DVD???

Indeed, I've been holding out to see if we get any aditional extras on the Euoprean discs- but if they do not have a PCM/ True HD mix, I will get the US BD.
