Monster House Blu Ray PQ is terrible

I am really surprised at the picture quality of this film on Blu Ray. All of the CGI films I have watched on both HD DVD and DVD have never been short of stunning.

This transfer is noisy as hell and in no way as sharp or detailed as you would expect from high definition.

Has anyone else found this? Big disappointment.

The film itself is good fun, but save the money and buy the DVD.

Re: Monster House Blu Ray PQ is terrible

I thought the picture quality was pretty good on Monster House. I did read somewhere that the director added grain to it so that it didnt look too CGI. I'm sure the Sony Pictures insider over at AVS mentioned this and was also quite surprised at the director's decision, but thats how he wanted the film to look.

...Odd decision then by the director. Personally I like CGI films to look pristine. As for not looking too CGI like.....well that's a new one on me

If you want pristine CGI watch Open Season, watched that this afternoon - looks very nice.

Didn't like the PQ on Monster House myself, but the grain was intentional, strange decision.
