No Steven Spielberg for HD-DVD after all.

Looks like the HD-DVD promo group made a mistake or took liberties with some of SS titles.

'The inclusion in the January 29 update of our "Coming Soon List" of three Steven Spielberg classics was an error on our part. The HD DVD Promotion Group expresses sincere apologies to Steven Spielberg, Universal Studios Home Entertainment and HD DVD fans for this mistake. We will endeavor to prevent any similar mistake and to provide accurate information.'

I bet you loved posting that

I did not think that these titles would appear, these AAA titles won't be released until sales pick up on both formats.

Looks like Spielberg got the hump!

What an embarrassment for the HD-DVD group!

Re: No Steven Spielberg for HD-DVD after all.

The fact the titles apepared on the HD DVD promotion site probably means the discs are being prepared - Universal is probably just kepping them quiet for a high impact release later. Can't see a mistake like that happening otherwise...

...still I'm surprised BadAss posted this news. By his own statement he isn't interested in any HD DVD titles - ergo he isn't interested in any of the above. I guess it's further proof he doesn't actually believe what he posts

Re: No Steven Spielberg for HD-DVD after all.

Of course!

Why else would the HD-DVD group apologize "to Steven Spielberg, Universal Studios Home Entertainment and HD DVD fans for this mistake" and promise to " endeavor to prevent any similar mistake and to provide accurate information"

Sounds like they'll be pressed next week, indeed!

There are some really scary people on the web. This type of post reminds me of those US website/message boards where members are ordered to get their wallets out and start buying as many Blu Ray/HD-DVDs as possible to support the war effort.

That guy was great!! I remember watching that live, I'd been away and was watching Sky News to try and catch up... Made me laugh!

Not quite sure who reminds me most of him tho'

Badass, you did just say only the day before, that you have no interest in HD-DVD, it's a non-issue for you, yet here you are stirring it up again. Not that I'm complaining it would be a boring war without you.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see regarding the SS titles... I'd be concerned about doing another 'LG Dual player' if I was you Badass... last time you proclaimed something was never going to happen, it soon did.

Re: No Steven Spielberg for HD-DVD after all.

From what I remember of the news reports at the time what was heppening behind the spokesman was actually quite an accurate reflection of what was happening...
