blockbuster email for blu-ray/hd dvd

I emailed blockbuster a few weeks back about them stocking blu-ray/hd dvd titles.
They said they were looking into it, so if a few more people contact them about it maybe they will start stocking them like lovefilm do.

so please contact them if you want to rent the hd formats.

Although rentals are only good to see new movies; and day and date releases on both formats have a long way to go!

And even if Day and Day releases exists will Blockbuster fork out for both versions (when avaliable) + the DVD release at the same date?

We are already in negotiations of getting HD and Blu-Ray discs on the rental system. I as of yet do not have dates to pass on but we are very close. Please keep checking our website for updates.

I bought the Xbox 360 HD DVD addon on impulse today as i saw it for the first time in a shop (Gamestation) and had wanted one for a while now.

Just out of interest I popped into local blockbuster and asked the manageress whether she had any idea when they would be be getiing in HD DVD to rent and she said they were gonna go Blu-Ray.

Don't really know what to read into this and whether it was just this particular (small) branch or whatever...

There are currently more Blu-ray titles available than HD-DVD, in all markets but especially the UK.

I think Blockbuster franchise stores owners can decide what to stock for themselves.

It seems that blockbuster have done a deal with sony to only stock blu-ray in their shops, in return for lots of ps3 stock for blockbuster/gamestation.
