Let The Right One In

Right out of leftfied, didn't know anything about this film at all and just watched it. Completely blown away Let The Right One In is possibly in my top 5 films of all time and was absolutely spectacular.

I really don't want to give anything away to those who haven't watched it suffice to say that I was absolutely blown away.

Re: Let The Right One In

There are allot of mixed reviews about this film. I stopped watching it after 40 mins. I thought it was really boring.

I am glad you liked it more than I did.

Not sure what reviews you are reading but Let the Right One In is one of the best reviewed horror films of all time. Just because you didn't like it personally doesn't mean it got "mixed reviews"

98% positive reviews on Rottentomatoes:

Let the Right One In Movie Reviews, Pictures - Rotten Tomatoes

..and it charts #10 of all time best horror films on Imdb:

Best/Worst "Horror" Titles

To the OP, there already are discussions about the film on here if you want to have a look.

^ I suppose that's a "mixed user review" then. I'm glad I didn't go by those.

I am a big fan of vampire movies and love foreign cinema but I couldn't see what all the fuss was about. I even ffd'd it after 40min and it just looked the same through out. Boring and not what I expected at all.

That is what I meant. Some love it and some hate it.

I am curious. Can you say why you liked it so much and why it was such a good movie?

Agreed, i think with children being the main actors it just made me feel that the director was about 16 who was allowed watch R rated movies from 12yo.
Not my cup of tea at all.

Re: Let The Right One In

I personally love vampire movies such as '30 Days of Night' and 'Interview with the Vampire' and 'Twilight' , but this was not a vampire movie per se, the fact that some characters are vampires is just one part of the whole story, as is the relative humanity of the vampires as a whole.

Re: Let The Right One In

I only watched it on DVD, I just can't jusity more than £10 on a blu-ray and haven't spent more than that for months. Admittedly, I only own about 15 blu-rays, but will own more as it moves into the mainstream!

Re: Let The Right One In

I thought it was a stunning film, beautifully shot and such an original take on a tried and tested genre. 30 Days of Night it certainly isn't though, definitely don't go into it expecting your usual run of the mill vampire film.

I hear they're already planning an American remake for people who are too lazy to read subtitles *face palm*

Anyone got the Blu Ray? Is it much of an improvement on the DVD?

Re: Let The Right One In

One of my favourite films this year. I've just got it on Blu-Ray but not had time to watch it yet.
