Heavenly Creatures DVD

I saw this a good few years ago and remember it being amazing, probably Peter Jackson's best film... I'd like to get it on DVD but am confused by all the different releases and versions available... dvdcompare confused me even more and they don't mention the r2 release anyway...

Anyone know which is the version to be had? And how the UK r2 holds up against the other releases?

Thanks all!

Re: Heavenly Creatures DVD

There are two cuts of the film, an international version which runs at 99 minutes and an earlier version for the New Zealend release which runs at 108 minutes. Jackson cut the film for international release and he says that the shorter version is his preferred version. Otherwise dvdcompare is your friend:

Rewind @ www.dvdcompare.net - Heavenly Creatures (1994)

Heavenly Creatures (1994) - Alternate versions

thanks for that - all very helpful... dvdcompare still doesn't tell me what the r2 release is like... it it the shorter or longer cut, is it 2:35 or the 1.85 open matte? is it single or dual layer?

anyone got the uk release?

Re: Heavenly Creatures DVD

I've got the German DVD of this which is anamorphic and the shorter version but which has the cut scenes as extras. I'm not even sure this ever got a release in the UK.

You can from amazon.de, I get quite a few things from there:

Heavenly Creatures: Amazon.de: Melanie Lynskey, Kate Winslet, Sarah Peirse, Peter Dasent, Peter Jackson: DVD & Blu-ray

You basically just have to click the same buttons as on amazon.co.uk
