How to remove black lines on a movie
I was just wondering how to remove the black lines on a movie for free.
The Program has to be free, leave no watermark and work on vista x32.
If requires configuring to work on vista could you please let me know?

Are you talking top and bottom lines on WS films and if so why do you want to remove them? If that's what you mean you should put your tin helmet on as you'll get a huge amount of flack on these forums.

Where do I start?
I'm at a loss, they must mean the bars from scope films?

Re: How to remove black lines on a movie
I think you can scrub them off with a good household cleaner.

Re: How to remove black lines on a movie
What are you watching? DVD, blu-ray, avi?
What are you watching it on? TV, PC, PSP?
You find the bars annoying, I know some people feel this way. But don't you mind missing out what's going on at the edges of the picture?

Just buy movies that will fill your screen up then if the black bars annoy you that much then, there is a list on here somewhere iirc.

They're one and the same. You can't crop without zooming in, and you can't zoom in without cropping.

Re: How to remove black lines on a movie
I have seen some movie converters with these kind of functions built in, but is not just a matter of re-moving black bars, different ratios will have different amount of black bar removed, and if you do remove them, basically you are zooming in on the movie and loosing the sides.
It will also be a long process as each movie will need to be converted. A laborious task.
Best suggestion is to put up with it and view the movie as it was intended to be viewed, or apply zoom on your viewing device, and accept you may loose the edges of the picture and picture quality.
FYI - As you will have gathered the "removal" of the black bars is a bit of an issue here (do some searches) to see what I mean.
But you have taken time to resister, so welcome on board, there is a whole lot of help on here, just not with black bars

Re: How to remove black lines on a movie
I just bought an old b/w war film. HILL IN KOREA.. On watching it on my w/s tv I have black bars either side of the screen. Its a pain BUT the film was originally shot in 1:33. At first I was a little annoyed but then again, had the company Optimum released it with no bars, I would have lost parts of the top and bottom of the picture. At least you know you are getting the full picture. If it annoys you, you can use the zoom mode as previousley stated. Optimum have had a lot of flak lately about releasing films that arnt in their correct aspect ratio. Maybe they have taken this criticicsm on board now. Id rather put up with black bars and know im getting the full picture.
