Question Recommendation Requests please - We need a new TV Show to watch!

Hi all,

I'm after some suggestions please! Can you recommend a good TV show to watch for me and my lady? We are approaching the end of 24 and Prison Break (both dragged out to rediculousness), so we need something else to occupy our TV nights together.

Any suggestions please?! Alias and Lost are both a no-no for different reasons.

I've added "The Unit" to my Blockbuster list, but are there any other newish ones (or old ones for that matter) that are worth watching? Action or girlie type stuff (only good ones though please fellas - I'll be watching it too!). Recently, we watched Lipstick Jungle and really enjoyed that, but couldn't get on with Sex and the City.

Oh yeah - and BBCs "Hustle" is a big favorite of ours too.

Thanks!

Paul.

The wifes always watching Greys Anatomy, but it has been on for a while so there may be a fair few to catch up with.....its not that bad for you to watch either! The Wire is supposed to be great, but tbh I just can't get into it.

Fringe is also really good, but you would have to watch it from the start to understand what is going on!

Ah yeah Fringe is actually pretty good in a cheesy kind of way.

The Gilmore Girls is something I thought I'd properly hate but after watching a couple with the missus it's actually pretty amusing in a light-hearted kind of way and it's almost guaranteed that the missus will love it.

House is awesome. If you've not seen it, watch it

Another vote for Dexter.

Damages is another one I watched with the GLW.

Re: Recommendation Requests please - We need a new TV Show to watch!

Some American series:

Firefly is absolutely brilliant.
I'm about 3 episodes into the first series of Rome which is pretty damn amazing so far.
Band of Brothers was really good if you have not seen it - and its available on Blu-ray too.
Prison break - First 2 series were great but it's getting a bit old now.
Another recommendation for Dexter.

British stuff:

Mighty Boosh - flat out comedy genius
Nathan Barley - Ditto
Garth Marenghi's Dark place - Ditto Ditto

If you don't find any one of these funny, you will probably not find the others funny either.

Sometimes I think people just read the thread title and then post what they want rather than read the comments the op made and then tailoring their suggestions to that.
