R4 DVD's?

I have just seen CD-WOW charging £17.99 for Back To The Future Trilogy (out in august), but I have never tried a Region4 (Australasia) disc.
My DVD player should play R1-6 + RCE, but are they ok/any good. OR should i wait for R1/R2 versions?

Nothing wrong with R4
Some such as Moulin Rouge are better than R1/R2.

There are rumours that the R1 disk which is not due until Dec ? at the earliest (after ET) will have a lot more extras, another disk of documentaries more deleted scenes etc, the R4 will have 3 disks one for each film with extras on each.

R2 is likely to be identical to R4 but comes out a month later or so and is likely to be much more expensive (I guess at least £30 ?)

R1 is more difficult to guess a price on as given Universal's ET pricing may be very expensive and still no confirmed date as they are sill working on the additional US exclusive extras.

According to the movietyme website the R4 release is actually an R2/R4 combined release.

Have a look at this thread:

http://www.avforums.com/forums/showt...future+trilogy

Particularly look at mrnab's link which compares the regions for Back to the Future Trilogy.

R4's also don't tend to suffer from the censorship that we get with UK R2's

Look at what they cut from The Matrix R2

Glad my Matrix is R4 (from cd-wow for £10.99)
