Star Wars Trilogy

Have the VHS boxset that was released about 10 years ago now, and I'm considering buying it on DVD...... Although I'd prefer the 6 film set, I'm not sure whether this would ever come out on DVD - might go straight to one of the HD formats.

So which is the best version of the Trilogy? Play have 2 versions - one £17 and the other £30. Is the difference really only the bonus features? I don't usually bother with them, so if the movies are the same I'll buy the cheaper.

thanks in advance.....

Yes. The dearer one is the original release with four DVD's (film DVD's and a bonus DVD) and the cheaper one is a new release with just the film DVD's.

i found the extras disc in the 4 disc set was actually quite a good one......in fact in a way i was more happy with that than the butchery of the films :-(

Films are the same - I ended up buying both as I bought the 4-disc set when it came out and then bought the 3-disc set bcause the boxart is far superior and because I'm a sucker for anything to do with Star Wars - I think I have the original trilogy about 8 times in different formats and packaging!

They are the same discs. It's juts missing the bonus disc.
