Watching it sunday nite, so i let you know what i think. Yes reviews have been very positive, and the director's last film Switchblade Romance was pretty good.

Stuff I have heard is that its rubbish. Just a scene by scene frame by frame remake of the original. So in my view its just a waste of time.

Does not really matter, as this film is just exactly the same, if you have seen the original, there is no need to see the remake and vica versa.

Actually its suppose to be very different, where did you hear it was shoit by shot remake?

Its another one of those recent horror films that just looks nasty and brutal with niether a focus on plot or charatcers or any fun at all to watch as its too grim. But if that sounds like the thing you enjoy I'm sure you'll like it. heh

The Daily Mails review yesterday. Also you just have to look at the trailer, everything looks identical.

The only difference is that the cannibals got mutated due to Nuclear bomb testing.

Well I really don't think you should be listening to the Daily Mail for film reviews.

Anyway, according to everything I have read its quite different. As well as being a lot gorier and the bad guys more grotesque, this one is suppose to have a much larger focus on the evil family. I also hear its a lot better made than the orginal, so even if you still arent convinced that its not shot for shot remake, then the fact that its suppose to be alot better than the orginal should change your mind. Still I'm not bothered either way, like I said its not really my thing.

Well I like horror films, but I'm not going to see this one. Any other film that has a stop off at a creepy petrol station featured in the trailer is just going to be boring, as all films like this are exactly the same, a rip off of the first TCM

Going to see this tonight! Looking forward to it, has had good reviews pretty much all round. (think you can safely ignore th Daily Mail )

I'm a sucker for these sort of films, havent seen the original, but enjoyed Wrong Turn which i understand was based on it. Also loved Switchblade Romance!

Here is a negative review, however I believe the site has as many reliable reviews on films as the daily mail does :

I liked Switchblade Romance aswell

I saw the original Hill Have Eyes for the first time in years not too long ago and I must say it hasn't aged very well. Unlike the original Texas Chainsaw which still shows its' cheap roots but retains a raw energy & power, Hills just comes across now as cheap.

I have heard very good things about this remake - mostly that it's head & shoulders above other similar remakes of 'classic' horrors and that it outshines the original by some way. I also really liked Switchblade Romance, so I'm quite looking forward to it.

And who on earth takes notice of reviews in the Daily Mail?! Is Chris Tookey still doing them? He's a total (EDIT: bottom!) of the highest order!

Wasn't that impressed with it. Not a bad film, but not exactly worth paying to see. Don't see what all the fuss is about with the violence either. The rape scene was graphic more for it's inclusion rather than it's content.

I'd wait for the DVD.
