I'd wait for the DVD.

This originaly recived an NC-17 over in the US, 2 minutes of footage had to be cut at the censors request in order for the film to get an R rating. Though I don't think it was from the rape scene, think it was mostly extra shots of gore.
So thats another reason to wait for a DVD really, as there will be an uncut version.

The remake was quite average, it was gory in parts, but never scary. It was not the film i was hoping for. The music was strange, and was never sure if it fitted the movie, the fact i thinking about the music during the film shows that i was not 100% glued to the film. PQ looked great out in the desert. If you have not seen the original, then worth watching. It was enjoyable, but forgettable 6/10, perfered the remake of TChainSawM.

Exactly
I actually quite liked it. Not scary in the slighest, but then name a film that actually is. It's not for everyone but it's worth a watch IMO
For the record i prefered the remake of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre too. Just got to hope that, with this apparent rekindled interest in horror, film makers will put some effort into creating some decent new horror instead of just re-hashing whats been done before, i see they've redone the omen, its getting a little boring really. is there really any point? there relatively enjoyable but serve little purpose i guess. Doesn't stop me watching them though (maybe i just answered my own question....... £££££££££)
Maybe Hostel will answer this? i've wanted to see it for a while so i'm preparing to be dissapointed, as is usually the case when i look forward to films, only time will tell.

I was hoping for good things from hostel, but then I saw people saying it was rubbish.
3/4 of it supposed to just be softcore porn apparently, then just some weak, pointless torture scenes.

I'm preparing for it to be crap.
The poster and trailer make it look interesting, though i know this is no indication of the actual film. I'll reserve my judgement until the end of the month though when i've seen it.
look at this, http://uk.imdb.com/title/tt0450345/ another remake, looks like they'll never leave the old films alone.

The Exorcism Of Emily Rose
Dont know why but it scared the rap out of me - and im not one to get scared that easy. Perhaps it was my mates creepy apartment or the fact that the lights were dimmed and the surround sound was doing its thing!

due to bad trafic was unable to get to the flicks and watch the new hills yesterday, so took the oppertunity to watch the original instead (on vhs - so quality was crap). I liked the plot but thought is was an average movie, not well directed at all. Has Wes Craven made a film better than Scream or Nightmare on Elm St, I think not? This is why I want to see the new one and see if the french dude can make abetter movie and if it's as good as the dawn of the dead remake.

it's a stonking film, excellent in all respects if dont mind the slow pace.
it had me thinking the usual will happen but it did'nt always which was a nice change.
i suppose it would be a tad creepy in the dark with decent surround sound, but then i watched the likes of freddy/jason from a very young age and am rather desencitised

I personally don't hold high hopes for this as I thought that Cabin Fever was one of the worst films I've ever seen. The trailer for it looked great(as does the Hostel one) but the film was a complete bag of ****.

I thought it took itself seriously (for which i was grateful, you will not find me in a queue to see Scream, Final Destination etc).
Just 'another' slasher film to me, not bad not exceptional.
I will have forgotten about it in about 2 weeks.
