I dont think you really need to see the first one, as you kind of know whats been going on, due to the flashbacks.

The second film starts straight after then end of the first. They do do a quite good flash back sequence but to be honest its more of a reminder to people who have seen the first rather than complete synopsis. You can jump in without seeing the first but it would be better (and easier to understand) if youve seen the first as well

Nothing - but nothing could drag me into a cinema for this. The first one was like having teeth pulled while simultaneously having hot metal spikey things shoved into my boys parts. The first film was also one of the only films I have walked out of. I have even (after several months of therapy) given the film a second chance on TV but it still made me physically sick!

For some reason I got a warm fuzzy feeling when I read Empires 1-star review...

just watched this, liked the first one. i have a liking for vampire/gothic films (blade 1 etc) and thought evolution was even better than i thought it would be. Good acting (well mostly), action and gore galore, loved every scene where a lycans jaw was torn off by hand. Like every other bloke that has a pulse i love seeing Kate doing her thing and she even gets nailed by her werewolf lover! (animal farm anyone?! )
overall good film, ill be buying it when it gets released on dvd, the strong gore and language made the film more gritty and adult.
before anyone thinks im some mtv film generation loving t**t, i love thoughtful, classic films but this film does deserve a chance.

Watched this last night with my wife and it was brilliant! I loved it and so did the wife! Also seeing Kate out of that leather suit was even better then seeing her in it Adding this baby to my collection as soon as its out.

Just wanted to say thanks to all for encouraging me to go out and watch this in the cinema. Prior to reading this thread I was of the opinion that it would be as bad as the first one but thanks to you lot and after seeing evolution I'm tempted to give that one another try.

One for the collection - quality sound effects, fast, gruesome, mindless action flick, thoroughly entertaining bar the sex scene (too slow for liking) thank heavens it didn't last long. Cheers
