I've had the R1 version for a while and I'll definitly be getting the special edition. This is just the kind of film that deserves extras and I cant wait to see more, plus an anamorphic transer is long overdue..... Will the new version have a 5.1 track or will we have to make to do with the Pro-Logic version?

I am sure this will have a 5.1 soundtrack, but as soon as I find out more about this release I will post it here

Now if only they give the Shawshank Redemption the same kind of treatment............

My R1 copy of Shawshank Redemption is anamorphic and is in DD5.1...

...there isn't much in the way of extras on it though, but a about £9.60p at the time I couldn't really complain...

Shawshank

My copy is the original release, with only a P&S picture and stereo sound. I prefer my VHS copy - it's widescreen with Dolby surround! You're right. Another classic in dire need of the SE treatment! That and Goodfellas, which I think is actually in the pipeline (finally!)
