Getting Serenity by Christmas?
Since it appears the R1 movie has a release date of the 20th December, anyone know of a company that will ship it to the UK in time as a pressie - ie by the 24th, just 3-4 days?

I'm in the USA just the week before, so annoyed it isnt out just a bit sooner.

There are a few retailers who ship early on most region 1 dvd's, there are at least two who sponsor the forums, you should keep an eye on their sites to see when they expect stock.

Moivetyme normaly ship early. I was so pleased to this movie get a pre xmas release.

Movietyme is your best bet, order with them and I am sure it will be with you before xmas.

Hi,

I should point out, that even if Movietyme do ship early, you're still at the mercy of the Royal Mail, and HM Customs And Excise!

I'm not saying that "Serenity" is on an HM Customs hit-list, but that the mail tends to get very delayed in the week upto Christmas Eve. So you'll have to see if Movietyme can send the disc out to you, at least a week before Christmas Eve, or else, it's unlikely you will get the disc in time.

(MovieTyme sometimes send their discs from Birmingham, UK, and/or from the USA, and/or via Germany, and then from Germany to your address in Britain!)

Axelmusic are pretty fast. I just preordered with them. I received my RotS 5 days before release. They said I should get Sin City: Extended well before street date too. Assume this will apply to other new releases as I've just preordered Serenity with them for cheaper than Movietyme (though I do recommend them too), and the Bret Hart story 3 disc.

I can see Serinity being one of the Movityme's next day serve dvds

They almost always ship early so it would be a good bet to go with them

Have found out, that the Region 2 release of "Serenity" isn't due until March 2006, despite the extras and feature already having being passed by the BBFC!

What are DVDimport like for delivery ? i notice that standard mail is free but I assume ive got very little chance of getting the film before Cristmas. It seems to be a few pounds cheaper though at £12.48

I have never used them but I have heard they are not the quickest at dispatching so if you want it before xmas my advice would be to use Movietyme or Axel Music.

Sorry to ressurect this thread but I have received an email from Movietyme saying that they cannot guarantee that Serenity will be delivered by Xmas.

Not happy and now looking at double-ordering it with local import store just in case.

According to the Royal Mail website, to send a parcel within the UK and Channel Islands and have delivery guaranteed before Christmas...

Your last posting date for UK and the Channel Islands is 14.12.05

The thing is that they say that Serenity will be with them about now. So I've asked them "why not send it out early to ensure delivery"?

I emailed Craig at Movietyme yesterday and he got back to me saying they should have Serenity instock either today or tomorrow.

Also, I ordered Serenity this morning from Axel Music and I have already had the "it should ship within the next 12 hours" email

On a similar (ish) note. I have the R1 Collector's edition of Cinderella Man on order from PLayUSA, but they are still awaiting stock. AxelMusic says "In stock NOW and available for immediate dispatch". Amazon.com seem to be out os stock too. Is it worth cancelling and going with Axel? (are their comments on stock availability usually accurate?). Thanks.

If it says Instock on their site then you can be 99% sure it is correct but if you email them I am sure they will get back to you within a few hours letting you know one way or the other.
