Looks like a simple equation Romero + Cash = 1 bloody good film There's always one film of the year that gets you excited, this year there's been four War of the Worlds; Sin City; Star Wars and to top this year of the master of Zombies finally gets his final dead saga completed, 20 years to late in my eyes!!! please all horror and non horror fans watch the trailer, you will be impressed
PS as you can guess i'am a bit of a Romero fan
Were was he in Empires top 20 Directors

I've heard both July 29th and August 5th as UK release dates so far.

The sooner the better as far as I'm concerned

release dates are 24th june for the US and 29th july for the uk, so it seems like we get a bum deal this time.

Why do we have to wait nearly five weeks
by that time they'll be to many bootleg DVD's floating round, which i hate
still soon be here, it could even be several trips to the cinema

I sooooo badly want this to be good. I dont think it will live up to expectations though, would be damn near impossible to I think!! Similar thing to Episode 1 for me!!

The Zombie Genre is one of my favourites as it is the first time as a kid I can remember being truly scared!!

how you could ever compare this to SW ep 1 is beyond belief, go wash your mouth out please.
This film is the next in the series while Ep 1 was a retrospective film and had to fill in plot holes.
Did love the script which was written but never filmed by romero though

Didnt mean the film is in any way similar just the expectation level!

My expectation of Episode 1 was huge as it is for this. Just dont want to be dissapointed again is all!

Don't worry, As far as I know the music was a late addition to the trailer and was lifted from Resident Evil Apocalyse, or some such rubbish, and shouldn't be part of the film.

The first trailer was better, the one with clips from Dawn (The real Dawn) and Day that had to be removed. Damn lawyers.

Can't wait. Looks a good 'un.

Its the first I've heard of it, actually they was only meant to be a trillogy, but after making day romero *entertained* the idea of making one every decade including social commentary on what was going on at the time.

I think he has made the fourth one due to fans saying they'd like to see more and he felt it was time that he'd like to do another, plus he finally got a studio deal he could work with.

Taken from the IMDB boards and GAR's site, he did post on his own website that if this does well he was thinking about doing another, but that text has now been removed from his website, so I think that this will be the last unless it does extremely well.

Don't forget he's an old fella now.

If this does phenomenally well, it would be great, because he'd finally have the clout to tell the studios, it's his way or no film. He's always been hindered by the studios. Even this one will be fairly tame on the big screen, with a lot of the gore due in an unrated DVD.

AFAIK, it was always a trilogy, but he wasn't allowed to make the "Day" he always had planned, so the "Land" happened. Not to say that this is the "Day" that he wanted, it just touches on some of the themes he wanted for the original "Day"

yeah, however he has said that he's very happy with the way Day turned out.Due to limited budget he had to rewrite it, and feels that its rawer and stipped back to the story's core. The original Day script was due to be a much bigger affair, with more surface action including corals of trained/intelligent zombies that could be sent to attack the 'other' zombies'

I actually prefer Day to his others and prefer it, as it is, to his original script, although I didn't read it all. I liked the claustrophobia and infighting. Most claim it was too talky, but I thought it was fine. And those effects were a joy to behold.

here's hoping for more of the same from Land.
