Exclamation New Star Wars 6 film set November

It was bound to happen but as reported elsewhere on the net Lucasfilm are releasing the entire series on November 1st, and "Revenge of the Sith" will be available seperately.
It is unclear at the moment if these will be the definitive versions as EP1 EP2 had some tinkering done for the DVD release, it remains to be seen if the original trilogy will undergo the same treatment for this Box set

The picture quality on Phantom Menace is terrible with loads of edge enhancement. Episode II has a fabulous picture.
I hpoe and think that they will take the opportunity to create a better release of Episode I.

I was hoping they would do an Episode I-III boxset. I am perfectly content with the IV-VI boxset and would not want to replace it at this time...

This is the set I've been waiting for so hopefully they'll do a good job of it. Of course it also depends what they're going to do with the 3D editions and if the relevant technology will ever be available at home.

Well from that link I assume that this is most likely just the six films packaged together as well as a three prequals boxset as well for those that already have the OT boxset.

The question is why would you want to watch Ep 1 again?

I ain't buying any until they are released in High Def well apart from the boxset last year and I had been waiting years to replace the glorious laserdisc set I used to own

Having seen AotC in HD that format more than makes for the lack of decent dialogue/characterisation and warmth that the first trilogy managed to generate and I think I need that sort of image quality to make me part with my money.

I agree I don’t think I’ll be dipping into SW again until they are on next-gen DVD.
