It is indeed R1 - however........there's the "hint" of a special edition coming afterwards. Press release suggests this is a single disk only version. To quote from another site "Supplements are reported to include a making-of featurette and some storyboards. This must be too thin to satisfy the director. No word on his ten-minute film school or a nice recipe. This hints at a bigger and better special edition downstream, perhaps an extended version"

If the dvd is coming out only a month after the cinema release I may just hold off watching this is in the movies. Doesn’t strike me as a cinema essential unlike Ep III; War of the Worlds and, of course, Batman Begins!

This is definitely worth watching at the cinema - I'd rather see this over Ep.3 anytime (Sin City is noir and it's a cracking movie - and I'm not even going to mention J.Alba as a stripper )

And I won’t be mentioning that to the wife when I convince her to see it…

Columbia release hence unrated special edition followed by the extended edition and Superbit range, got used to triple and quadruple dipping with Columbia titles so i'll wait on this one.

bit grim for me TBH, not a film for someone who's feeling a bit down about things!

Maybe - but if you're feeling glum, pop earplugs in and you can watch it for Ms. King, Dawson, Murphy and Alba.....
It's defo worth viewing though.....

YOU. Outside now, go on get. Shoo-shoo (whilst making appropriate shooing gestures)
Go and see this, forget about the overhype that is beardy-boy Lucas' Return Of The Sith (rearrange the letters for the more suitable last word)

'Tis indeed the super-duper bare-bones edition by the looks of it:

Here's hoping we won't have to wait as long as we've been for Kill Bill. With word that Sin City sequels are on the way i'm fearing we wont be seeing the Special Edition till closer to their release . Lets hope not
