hopefully by christmas we will have the super duper trilogy boxset....always thought the behind the scenes footage of the joker and heaths performance was a bit thin on the dark knight bluray..(maybe they are holding it back for the trilogy set however...this conversation is for another thread...

the problem i have now is, once ive seen a film in IMAX, i cant really see it any other way, as it really is a thrill ride with the size of the screen and the bloody great thunderous audio..if i ever win the lottery.....

i thought the score on this movie was brilliant.

That sort of life lesson is why I love avforums. Bit like John Wayne's advice to Mickey Caine to never wear suede shoes especially if you get recognised in the restroom.

Apparently bornrich.com report that a $2 million dollar “Dark Knight” themed custom home theater is being built at a home in Greenwich, Connecticut, US, set to be completed by November of this year

Quote:
The builder, Elite Home Theater Seating, says the structure includes a Batmobile, batsuits, 180” film screen, winged gargoyles, private cylindrical stainless steel elevator with a glowing bat symbol, a secret tunnel exit, bat computers, and race-car inspired home theater chairs.

The design is authentic down to the smallest detail. The 12,000 square foot house emulates Wayne Manor, including a study where a bust of William Shakespeare is used to reveal elevator doors. A real fingerprint scan is required to gain access to the Dark Knight home theater.

There are 6 Batman suits in the theater, as well as a 15′ replica of the Batmobile.

Elite Home Theater Seating - Home Theater Furniture | Home Theater Chairs

These look like concept art

Enjoyed the DKR mostly for its ending.
I'm totally with you on this. I had no interest in watching TDKR as I was so disappointed with the hugely overrated TDK. It almost put me off the franchise. However, a group of us watched TDKR last night and I really enjoyed it. Much more action and far superior story line than the TDK. BB still the best of the trilogy.

I saw the flick 2 days after release but haven't been here to post my views.

I loved it although

Dark Knight still just beats it for me. TDKR was really well done. Very well paced and i just loved how the story tied things up with the first movie. Catwoman was perfectly added and paced in the film.

As an overall film, TDKR is a better film but Ledger just makes the Dark Knight a better film for me. Still hate the ending of the Dark Knight with a passion and thought 'Rises' did it much much better. Joker and 2 Face have always been my favourite Batman Villians so Bane as awesome as he was, was never going to compete.

Loved how Crane also cropped up again in TDKR

TDK for me is the best of the 3 with TDKR coming in last, not that TDKR is a bad movie, i loved it, but BB and TDK were just above.

Saying TDK is boring with the Joker being dull is bordering on the ludicrously troll like imo..

I love the ending of TDK when Gordon does his little speech. Gives me goosebumps. It's quality. It's not an end anyway. It's part of a continuation of a story. Each to their own though.

TDK is the best of the trilogy, as it leaves you wanting more (like ESB)..were the TDKR answers most of your questions, and (mostly) satisfy's the questions the TDK raised and rounds everything off..

overall it has been the most satisfying trilogy, since the toy story trilogy!..er but for adults...

my individual/trilogy score is..

BB = 9
TDK= 10
TDKR = 9.5

overall as a trilogy though = 10 and a great piece of cinema

Batman and Robin on now on itv2, how on earth did this film pass any sort of quality control? Even as a fan movie it would be a disgrace, makes the Phantom Menace seem passable.

Hang your head mr Schumacher.

Watched it this afternoon for the first time, really enjoyed it - not sure which i prefer though between TDK and TDKR.

One thing though (spoiler alert) the bomb was supposed to have a radius of a 6 mile blast zone - yet when it blows up at the end, out at see, nothing much happened - Batman sure as hell wasn't 6 miles away. Wouldn't there have been some kind of tidal wave at least?

also, i must have missed the bit why/how "Robin" picked up the bag left for him - i saw him pick it up with his "real" ID and then head off to the batcave, but when was it left there for him etc?

spoilers

no tidal wave, but the residual radiation would have destroyed just about everything.

There was no scene where it was left for him, just it being picked up.

I can't spoiler tag on my phone but it's pretty obvious to me how be was given it. Thought the film showed the lead up to it without spelling it out.

The why/how

the bag was left was never shown, Bruce Wayne amended his Will and left the bag with location to the Batcave, as he felt Blake was the right person for the
job

Blake turned up somewhere towards the end. Others were there.

He would have been informed that there was something for him then.
hope that spoiler worked. Don't think it gives anything away anyway.

I should of rephrased that, i

know Blake went to Wayne Manor (i think) to witness the reading of Bruce Wayne’s will, where he got the bag from.

I was just pointing out (when i said why/how, i know 'why') we were not shown anything before that regarding the bag to the OP, basically all unnecessary
stuff.

So brilliantly told in The Elephant To Hollywood. Caine must now rival Niven as a racconteur.

Don't forget the reactor was a 'clean' bomb as far as radiation went. There's obviously some filmic license w/the distance Batman gets the Bat out to sea before it blows, and we're never sure how early he used the autopilot, but in both cases the editing was all about misleading the audience.

I read it in Maurice's autobiography years ago but it's stayed with me for some strange reason.

Went to see it again last weekend. Much better on second viewing as you get more time to pay attention to the details. The first time watching was just purely "an experience." It didn't create the droning-in-my-chest kind of effect that TDK had but still a tremendously great film.

How long do people think this will continue to be shown at the IMAX screens? I wouldn't mind watching it again but just before it gets pulled
