Dwayne Johnson $36m

Cruise named highest-paid US actor - Yahoo! Movies UK

Who's paying Dwayne $36m and what for?, he gets more than Depp and nearly as much as Di Caprio.

OK Fast 5 might have made him a bit, but $36m, has anyone seen a film that he's really been good in, he played 3rd fiddle in Fast 5 and came across a bit wooden IMHO.

I can sort of understand Cohen at $30m because he makes up films, hence gets a lions share.

All down to Journey 2 which made $325 million world wide, to top it of he was also a co-producer.

And is top billing GI Joe 2 shortly. He is a likeable screen star, very limited acting talents obviously but its the same with Arnie. Just need a bit of star presence with some big hits for all the family. Tom Cruise and Depp are there for the long haul and career wise I am sure have been more prolific earners. Tom Cruise in particular has an amazing screen star longevity.

Dwayne has longevity! He has already signed for The Expendables 10.

Yah but I am guessing he has had long droughts out of the this high earner bracket. But Tom Cruise has been pretty consistent apart from the publicity knock he had which of course tainted demand for him.

But dont get me wrong, The Rock has been around for a long time but just not anywhere near the high profile longevity that Cruise has sustained in his 30+years in showbiz.

This earning bracket chart reflects the current worth, public demands and immediate success of a star, not about actual talent or ability. So as Jalaldevil mentions, Journey 2 is a big massive family hit, I can clearly see that it without looking up stats because even though its now on Blu Ray, I see that cinemas are still showing this film every Saturday and Sunday mornings and afternoons!
