When I watch deleted scenes, I usually find the scenes were deleted with very good reason- ie they're either pointless & add nothing to the film, or they slow the pacing right down.

Imho there are very few Directors cuts that are better than the Theatrical cuts. I find most of them worse than the Theatrical cuts.
I'm inclined to agree, though there are a handful of exceptions. If a directors cut smooths out one or two issues with The Avengers though, it could be terrific.

But this was so good at the cinema I thinks that an extra 30 minutes would ruin the pacing of the movie.
the directors cut of blade runner was also great

First look at Marvel’s new short 'Item 47'

The short film will be available on the The Avengers Blu-ray/DVD, running in at 12 minutes.
Quote:
The title refers to an alien gun that falls into the hands of a hard-luck couple (played by Lizzy Caplan and Jesse Bradford) after the climactic battle in The Avengers. Two S.H.I.E.L.D. agents (Maximiliano Hernández and Titus Welliver) are tasked with getting the gun and capturing the couple, who are going on a crime-spree with their new toy.
The short screens at Comic-Con on Thursday, July 12th.

Cool

Not really good choices there when I saw Marvels I always though Timothy Dalton would have made the perfect Tony Stark

Quote Comic book artists have been using Dalton's likeness for Tony Stark since Alex Ross used him as reference in his painted mini-series Marvels in 1994.

I also think Bruce is a wrong choice for Spider-Man and Walken bears very little resemblance to Professor-X not unless not of the comics but more First Class which is ambiguous.

Not quite the Directors Cut that was rumoured a while back, but there might be something new at the end apparently !?

Doubtful.
What's the point of spending extra money filming an extra scene AND creating loads of new prints for cinemas, just for a 1 day showing?
Probably just wishful thinking like the Directors cut was.

Did you see Sam Raimi's 'Spider-Man' screen test with Tobey Maguire, it was influenced by Bruce Lee - Screen Auditions

Marvel's Facebook page comes with a the tease: "Don't forget to stay through the credits..."

Nothing but poor journalism I think...
Omitting part of the quote to make it sound like it's more than it is.

Got around to seeing this at last. Friend of mine over-hyped it..slightly "It's the best superhero film ever, nothing comes close, it's amazing. Iron Man is much better in this than in the Iron Man film etc etc".
I enjoyed it, but not as much as he did. Plenty of action, superb battles, nice line of humour and what have you. But the storyline wasn't anything original and I didn't really feel any real emotional connection to the characters, though I loved the shot of all them standing in a circle. Loki was surprisingly good in this. I'd put it just ahead of Thor and perhaps Captain America but behind the first Iron Man and Spider-Man 2 in the Marvel universe. Perhaps level with X2.
With regard to the DC Universe I'd put Watchmen Directors Cut and the Nolan Batman movies ahead of it.
Avengers Assemble: 8/10
