Post Ginger Snaps Region 1: Sucks Big Time!!!

Just viewed this last night. It's a full screen transfer with surround soundtrack! No extras other than a trailer and I thought the movie itself was over-rated. I know the back of the box states the movie is released in the version it was shot, but the end credits reveal 'Dolby Digital in selected theatres' and R2's Momentum release is apparently to be an anamorphic widescreen print!
What's it all about?

Hi.
Are there two editions out?
Play247 list it as a SE with 5.1
and anamorphic.Plus loads of goodies.
Poor Dvd aside is the movie worth a
watch?
Later

Cool

Strange one this Thommo. On dvdboxoffice it's listed exactly as you describe.1:33 full screen,no extras and just stereo surround.

However on Play247.com it's listed as having the following extras:
Commentary By Director John Fawcett,
Commentary By Writer Karen Walton,
Deleted Scenes W/Optional Commenatry By The Director And Writer,
Featurette,
Cast Auditions and Rehearsals,
Theatrical Trailers,
TV Spots,
Cast/Crew Biographies,
Photo Gallery,
Interactive Motion Menus,
Scene Selection,
Production Design Artwork.
It is also listed as having Anamophic widescreen and Dolby Digital 5.1.

So what gives?

With Boxoffice being Canadian I was thinking maybe this was similar to the Memento situation (differences between the Canadian and USA region 1 versions). But don't Play247.com also source their discs from Canada?

...seeing as how this US site says the disc won't be released until 23rd October...
http://www.dvdplanet.com/ProductSummary.asp

...you may have received a CANADIAN release (some DVDs released in Canada differ from their US counterparts - e.g. The Red Violin/Canadian Edition = Dolby Surround only / US Edition = dts and DD 5.1 soundtracks)...

... just a thought...

. . . :o . . .

The Canadian SE that's not out yet will be the best version, it's better than all the other no frills discs that are coming out, or are already out, in the other regions - US R1, R2 or R4(which is at least 1.85 and 5.1) or the current movie-only Canadian version.

Yup! Just been told the upcoming Canadian version is the one to go for if your buying this movie. I took a gamble and ordered the disc on the strength of the theatrical reviews. Wish I hadn't!
I really didn't like this film at all.
