I always use Amazon.com.
1. No customs charges using WorldMail
2. Delivery time for Worldmail is 7 days average (only 3 days more than courier)
3. 2 discs have gone a.w.o.l. in the post, they were replaced (via courier) as soon as I info'd Amazon.
4. Although perhaps not the cheapest up front, I always order 8 titles at a time, so postage cost is kept to a minimum ($2.75 per item - no extra charge for boxed sets like the Bond collection). Combined with the lack of customs charges I've found Amazon the cheapest for the way I order discs.
5. Secondary reasons include a well laid out website, lots of titles, easy on-line ordering and access to cheap cd's too.
Cons:
A: I would not recommend them if you only go for one or two discs at a time.
B: Slow to update changes in release date & disc spec.
C: If you want stuff early, forget it !

I've got about 170 DVDs - around half of which are region 1 and I've tried most of the more well known companies up until now.
Play247 is easily my most used company, they're cheap and deliver in 3-4 days, more recently I've been using Movietyme who managed to get the Scream box set, The Ultimate Toy Box and Pitch Black to me before most retailers were shipping those titles. Finally I've been using Futureent who had M:I-2 before anyone else (?) and they seem to get DVDs to my door in around 1-2 days from ordering.
I've tried other companies, but IMHO those 3 are the best.

Play247 have MI2 release date as 7/11/00 are you sure they have posted it ?
I used to use DVD Express, but after you pay for postage & tax they worked out a little more expensive than other sites. At the moment iam using Play247 and just recently placed an order with DVDBOXOFFICE. I have read many good & bad reports about them so fingers crossed that my order does take for ever to arrive.

Problem with Amazon at the moment is that DHL is fu#king about with the shipping routes, so the worldmail packages that used to always go via amasterdam and so avoid tax, are now going through various countries (inc. Jamacia) and this means customs charges. (some packages are still going through amsterdam)

Not ordered in the sort of quantities that some of you guys have, only around 20 or so.
My choice: ABSOUND.CA
Excellent prices and delivery around 7 days.

Well its listed as posted and I have the reg del number for it as well.
It does seem strange they still have 7/11 as a date for it, maybe it has something to do with me e-mailing them about early selling, im not sure
But if it was posted Friday then should be here by wednesday so ill let you know

Play247 gets my vote. All DVD's ordered for them have arrived intact and on time (2 - 4 days). No complaints, they'll do for me!

Well, as some as you may know, I don't use PLay247, and probably never will. My reasons for this are simple:
1) They don't have much of a choice of titles, unless you go for mainstream, popular Hollywood blockbusters.
2) I prefer more esoteric titles, e.g. foreign-language films, extreme horror titles, and Japanimation, many of which Play simply do not stock, although they probably could get hold of for me if I asked them. (Though I shouldn't have to keep requesting such types of films. You wouldn't give a high-street store your business, if all of the items you wanted, kept having to be ordered in - every single time, would you?!)
3) Any company that didn't manage to pre-order enough titles of "Terminator 2: UE" when the majority of other R1 importers were able to, loses my vote instantly! (Yes, I know Artisan didn't manufacture enough, but how come almost every other company got their orders fulfilled without any problems?!)
Please bear in mind, these are only MY opinions, and you are welcome to disagree with me on them, but slating me for my reasons isn't!

I have only recently started using Play and think they are excellent. www.video-now.com are very good, slight delay in stocking new titles though. www.encoredirect.co.uk are a very reliable, quick delivery site that I use, but Play seem a bit cheaper. Have also ordered from www.express.com (takes too long) site is excellent and includes stock levels.
