Resident Evil 5 (2012)

Sony Screen Gems have set a date of September 14, 2012, for the fifth film in the franchise tentatively titled Resident Evil Begins. The previous film had a budget of $60m and made around $296m worldwide. That was nearly two and a half times as much as Extinction and about as much as the first three movies combined.

He was the best thing in it.
He was the only one clearly aware that he was in a B-movie.

Compared to Wooden Head aka Wentworth Miller, he's positively Shakespearean.

Of coarse, it should have been Val Kilmer, lol

From the title it sounds like either a prequel or a reboot.. i'd love them to do the actual first game as a prequel. The mansion did make a brief appearance in the first film, so i'm sure they could set the whole thing just before Alice arrives..

hard to see where they can go with this one!. the last one was their chance to get back on track and it didn't. 1+2 were great IMO!,3 was ok but 4 was not what id hoped for.

I've liked them all. Along with the Tomb Raider films they're easily the best video game sourced films out there. Though Silent Hill wasn't bad, I suppose.

Milla Jovovich and Paul WS Anderson both officially confirmed for Resident Evil: Retribution. Anderson will both direct and write the screenplay.

i can't even remember the last one very well, but i know it was pretty rubbish. i can remember the shocking acting of Wentworth Miller, whose the most wooden bit of plank i've ever seen

but as long as Milla and Ali Larter are in it, i will no doubt check it out

Both Colin Salmon and Boris Kodjoe are returning...

Salmon;
Quote:
"Confirmed I will be shooting new Resident Evil movie. Paul Anderson has written an amazing script. Cannot share how I return because it's intrinsic to the plot."
Quote:
Salmon played leader of Umbrella Special Forces Commandos, James "One" Shade in the first film. While infiltrating the Hive -- an underground laboratory of sorts --

the character met an unfortunate end when he was chopped into hundreds if not thousands of pieces by a
laser trap!!

Quote:
Kodjoe returning as Luther West, a man who survived the initial T-virus outbreak isn't as much of a mystery. At the end of the previous film, 'Resident Evil: Afterlife,' the character was shown to survive a zombie attack despite it being a close call.

Another possible returnee, with reports that Michelle Rodriguez has signed to reprise her role as special forces operative, Rain Ocampo. Expect flashbacks.

Such a guilty pleasure of mine these movies. Can't wait for this.

I'd agree that most of the acting has been horrendous - yeah, Wentworth Miller, no need to say anymore - but they have always been a lot of fun to watch.

Resident Evil 1 on the Gamecube was so scary, I find video games much scarier than movies. All I need is to be walking down a creepy corridor with some groaning sounds coming from somewhere and I'm nearly soiling myself.

BBC News - Zombies hurt in Resident Evil film set accident

Zombies hurt on the set. It must have been hard for the medics to tell the really injured from the fake.

Resident Evil and Resident Evil: Apocalypse were okay. Resident Evil: Extinction and Resident Evil: Afterlife sucked! Afterlife was entertaining in about two or three scenes but other than that, it was pretty awful. It's a shame because I really want to like these movies! haha. I hope Retribution is decent, at least!

I'd like a live-action Resident Evil movie that actually follows the games like Degeneration did. Hopefully, the second Degeneration (can't remember the title but there's a sequel to the CGI movie) will be great.

Leon Kennnedy (Johann Urb) in costume on the set of Resident Evil: Retribution. Urb plays the leader of the Resistance, who teams with Jovovich's Alice character as she battles the Umbrella Corporation and the swarm of undead.

Production photos from the Richard L. Hearn Generating Station in Toronto, decommissioned since 1995, converted into a Soviet Zombieland

am i the only one who didnt like any of them? i mean, 1 was ok apart from the crappy CG (even back in the day) and then it just got worst and worst? 2 was abysimal - if the zombies were created from the rats with T-virus, im pretty sure the likelihood of them burying underground and gnawling through coffins at the same time so the cemetary corpses can rise in harmony as alice runs by is fairly slim. also, ive mentioned before, the streetfighter battle at the end was L-O-L

im suprised theres so much love for these films. and noticed some quoted one of the best game to screen films!!!!

mine would be mortal kombat! advent children and maybe then silent hill

curious how michelle rodriguez & colin salmon will be in it considering they were killed in the first film. My guess is cloning of some kind, given it's the umbrella company lol
