Aliens ramifications aside, I could have gone with Ripley being killed off. However, having the Alien type in co-ordinates? Good grief! Why not go the whole hog and have old Xeno stick the kettle on, put his feet up and light one up!

I got the impression on these forums that " This is not what the director intended for his or hers vision " So the suits got it right this time then?

But I'm glad they didn't go with RS on this one.

I'm with Todd. Especially as that kind of ending wasn't something I was into at the time I first saw Alien. It would definitely have impacted on the reverence I place on the film and I doubt it would ever have wound up being my favourite film.

Tapping out coordinates would have been dumb and would have ruined everything that went beforehand, however I quite like the idea of the alien taking a while to develop it's intelligence. It could have a 'mature' phase after the initial killing machine phase.

That's the first time in over 30 years we've heard that idea of Ridley's and it is so comical I'd imagine he was pulling the interviewer's leg.

Well, the aliens have shown themselves capable of at least copying the operation of machinery (button in A4). Is it that far fetched to believe they could copy the use of a touchpad?

Yeah that must be it. It's just too rediculous to be true.
