its a shame you didnt like the mentioned films, i really liked mr vengeance!
however, if you like chaser, i think yo ushould try out 'memories of murder' and 'a dirty carnival'. oh, and theres a new one called 'i saw the devil' - hope its good, i like the director but really like the actor,

i personally think korean films have been blossoming the past few years/near decade and i persaonlly prefer them to japanese as of late.
you should also try out:
im a cyborg but thats ok (real random but charming semi dark comedy)
JSA (joint security area) (nice film about friendship in an obscure situation)
bitter sweet life (gangster falls in love film)
good bad and weird (fun light hearted adventure film)
