The remake was bad compared to the original which wasn't Harryhausen's crowning moment IMO.
But where will the story go?... According to the myths, using the Medusa's head during the wedding on Phineas to turn him into stone and creating a race of serpents from the blood of Medusa might work. but this would entail acting, a good script and pretty good direction.....I am not convinced

First one was pretty lame IMO. Should have been much better. Injustice to Greek mythology!

The first one made $491m at the boxoffice which will be the only reason why the sequel is being made.

Sequel is titled - Wrath of the Titans

Liam Neeson has confirmed that he will reprise his role as Zeus. Neeson claims that it's currently on a 10th draft and will begin shooting next March, promising "some kick-ass stuff and a very human story to it."

As long as it's got plenty of Gemma Arterton wearing not very much, it'll certainly be worth a rental when the BD is out

Actress Rosamund Pike is in negotiations for the role of Andromeda in Wrath of the Titans. She will be replacing Alexa Davalos, who played the same Andromeda role in Louis Leterrier's Titans.

Have to put my hands up and say I liked the first one.

There were Titans, they clashed. End of.

I also have no love whatsoever for the original, so that helps, I suppose.

The original film is beloved by some (including me). Sure, it has some terrible 1980's casting, a cheesy plot and it faffs about all over the place, but it's still enormously enjoyable. The FX work has dated badly in some places but the whole Medusa sequence is stunning - pisses all over the remake.

Plot details and Gemma Arterton not likely returning for the sequel directed by Jonathan Liebesman (Battle Los Angeles)

Sam Worthington - Perseus; Liam Neeson - Zeus; Danny Huston - Poseidon; Ralph Fiennes - Hades; Rosamund Pike - Andromeda; Edgar Ramirez - Ares; Toby Kebbell - Argenor; and Bill Nighy - Hephaestus.

Plot;
Quote:

A decade after his heroic defeat of the monstrous Kraken, Perseus—the demigod son of Zeus—is attempting to live a quieter life as a village fisherman and the sole parent to his 10-year old son, Helius. Meanwhile, a struggle for supremacy rages between the gods and the Titans. Dangerously weakened by humanity’s lack of devotion, the gods are losing control of the imprisoned Titans and their ferocious leader, Kronos, father of the long-ruling brothers Zeus, Hades and Poseidon. The triumvirate had overthrown their powerful father long ago, leaving him to rot in the gloomy abyss of Tartarus, a dungeon that lies deep within the cavernous underworld.

Perseus cannot ignore his true calling when Hades, along with Zeus’ godly son, Ares (Edgar Ramírez), switch loyalty and make a deal with Kronos to capture Zeus. The Titans’ strength grows stronger as Zeus’ remaining godly powers are siphoned, and hell is unleashed on earth. Enlisting the help of the warrior Queen Andromeda (Rosamund Pike), Poseidon’s demigod son, Argenor (Toby Kebbell), and fallen god Hephaestus (Bill Nighy), Perseus bravely embarks on a treacherous quest into the underworld to rescue Zeus, overthrow the Titans and save mankind.

Warner Bros. Readying 'Clash of the Titans 3'

The sequel is still to be released (currently in post production and due next March). Reports are saying that the studio are already working on another sequel with Dan Mazeau and David Leslie Johnson (who wrote the second film 'Wrath of the Titans').

Insiders say that Agenor, a sidekick-like character played by Toby Kebbell,

may also figure into the new story, as the second movie leaves the door open for the character’s return
