Any comments on DVD rental companies?

I've been looking at www.cinemaparadiso.co.uk and their packages which seem quite tempting, anyone used them?

Are there any catches with the free trials? Can I sign up with lots of DVD rental companies and effectively get a years worth of DVD rental for free?

I used them a few years ago and they were alright then. I eventually cancelled my subscription because they didn't have as much choice as their bigger rivals and I watch a lot of older, cult and foreign language films which they didn't have in stock.

I also tried them years ago when i was sampling all the free trials on offer, Eventually i stuck with Lovefilm and been with them for about 4 years now. Been good for me.

I doubt you can go for free for too long as many of these are kind of Lovefilm in disguise and won't allow free trials if you had one elsewhere. I would go for either Lovefilm or Blockbuster. I have been on and off with Lovelfim for quite sometime and once I was offered a 3-month free period to rejoin and another time a half price for a while. Let alone when you are a customer they will offer you free months if you convince more people to join. I never managed to persuade anyone though.
Now I run a Blockbuster subscription and I was offered an extra free month as I didn't rent that many films in the first 2 months. Due to the recent Mail disruptions I had to wait a while for the discs to arrive and they send me 5 more. So now I have 10 at home
They are better suited to people looking for not necessarily obscure but certainly less popular titles but that has worked for me as I tend to watch big blockbusters at the Cinema.

I can recommend Lovefilm, been with them nearly five years now, since they were ScreenSelect.

No major problems, discs come quick enough, but then I've got loads of titles on my rental list and I'm not fussed about getting any particular titles in a hurry.

You can get a free 3 month Lovefilm trial, no strings attatched, for new customers. The codes are around the net, google will probably sort it out but if you need help let us know and I'll have a look.
