Bjoern Roy looks at Lord of the Rings under a microscope!

very interesting if your concerned about picture quality.

BTW, The Two Towers R2 PAL EE has superb PQ on my screen! Bjoern says he'll have a review up soon.

Weird.

I had the R1 and R2 of FOTR and found the R1 generally more acceptable.

Perhaps your screen is such that it looks better with NTSC than PAL for whatever reason.

Thumbs up

There really is no debating after Bjoern has reviewed a DVD.

Doin't think so. Standard 32: Sony WEGA.

Perhaps I don't have the level of detail to make the choice but IMO I still find the R1 more acceptable.

Fair enough - I think you'll find that if you used a resolution test pattern DVD, your screen probably wouldn't be able to display detail all the way upto 6.75mhz, so you probably wouldn't see a lot of difference between versions. This is only really of interest to people with HD & Progressive scan screens.

This pretty much confirms what I see on my setup (9" CRT projector). The regular R1 version also has lip sync issues and over blown bass.
