It's not exactly pick of the week is it? Clover field was hugely overrated and not something I intend to watch again

Stardust is on Film4 tonight 9pm. Another chance to catch this excellent British film. It cannot fail to bring a smile to your face

Although E4 has Bulletproof Monk at 9pm. Chow Yun-Fat and Stiffler. What is not to like?

I'm the same now with my post I tend to list what may be of intrest not what I'm recommending unless I colour them, although I'm not listen every film on TV, one mans meat is an others poison.

SNIP edit by Garrett
Just a quick correction re above post. Michael Clayton is actually on BBC2 at 10pm on Sunday not ITV (and amazingly is also on BBC HD. Yes, a film on BBC HD and we don't get many of those !)

Also worth a look, although not a patch on The Prestige is The Illusionist on ITV1 and HD at 10:35 on Wednesday.

Michael Clayton on BBC2 was shown in the correct aspect ratio too, 2.35.1.

Good film and kudos for the widescreen.

My first thought was they'd gone letterbox 16/9 and I was going for the zoom option then I realised.

I wonder how many complaints there were from the 4.3 crowd?

This film needs to be seen on a big(ish) screen and heard on an even bigger sound system. Absolutely brilliant sound design and steering.

Shaky cam worked great, added to the feel of the film imho. The bluray is a demo disc for audio.

Afraid I'm on the side of the previous poster. The shakycam was excessive and ruined it for me.

Cool

seeing the whole film from one perspective made it feel more realistic but that could have been done like like some films that the whole films taken though the main characters eyes.

I took Mrs Sonic to see Cloverfield. For me it worked perfectly. The title gave nothing away and neither did the first twenty minutes where she sat thinking, "what has he took me to see this for". The bad guy turning up was a complete surprise for her and it was great to see the look on her face.

Rescue Dawn just starting now on BBC2. Vietnam prisoner of war drama with Christian Bale. Well worth a watch if you haven't seen it, I love this film.

A bit like From Dusk Till Dawn a great film but at a certain point the folk who haven't seen it become more entertaining than the film itself.

Watched one the last night which I only found by change and misses the start and still have about 30 min to watch but from what I have seen can recommend when you spot a repeat of Goya's Ghost on Film 4.

Its partly about the Spanish Inquisition, partly about Goya but one story line.

Cleaner 9pm Although on Five look like the plots good about a ex-detective who goes round cleaning up after crime scenes but this time get the call to clean up and after hes done finds the call came before the police were.

Tomorrow afternoon Great Expectation Film4 the John Mills/David Lean classic telling of this tale.

Too late now but I should watch The Magnificent Seven again as I've been watching a lot of Auf Wiedersehen Pet of late which has loads of M7 references.

Skin maybe interesting.

Only caught the last 20 minutes of it but just before they were picking there guns up to go back to the village there was a shot where there was quite a bit of sky being shown and it looked like a very dirty transfer.

And missed all the other late ones as I was watching 3 hours of Prison Break on Sky3
