Woolworth has Michael Bay's Transformers on Blu-Ray - sort of

I was surprised to see that Woolworth were selling Transformers today in hi-def on Blu-Ray, though "on closer inspection", it turned out that some bright spark amongst their sales staff had simply put the HD-DVD sleeves in a number of Blu-Ray cases. I was going to mention it to them but then I thought they probably couldn't care less - and anyway there was a huge Christmas queue of customers waiting for service. There were at least twenty cases on display so they must expect to sell a few, would be pretty annoying if you bought a copy to play on your Blu-Ray player and found it was incompatible !

They probably don't know that they are different formats. They just see the HD bit and assume they are all the same.

Re: Woolworth has Michael Bay's Transformers on Blu-Ray - sort of

Went into my local woolys and was suprised to find they had spiderman 3 on both blu-ray and HD DVD, knowing that spidy was only on blu-ray I decided to approach a chap behind the counter with a copy of the disc in hand. I told him that it was in the wrong box as this film is only available on blu-ray and he said I was wrong and then went to find the offending disc, he came back a few minutes later saying that he couldn't find them but deffinantly had some there, I told him that there would be some dissapointed customers who have a disc that wont play on there machines, he just took it off me and walked away, NUMPTY.

As posted in the other woolworths threads the boxes on display are just for that 'display only', when you go to pay for it they get a new boxed DVD out.
