Aspect Ratio
Hi all

This might not be the right dept but does anybody know if a DVD with an Aspect Ratio of 2.40:1 will fill a 16:9 TV screen, or will it have black bars?

Baclk bars is what you will see.

16:9 = 1.78:1

It is slightly wider than the well known 2.35:1 so will have slightly bigger borders.

Even 1.85:1 has borders but overscan on widescreen TV's hides them from view and it fills the screen.
