DVD Crave (Australia)

Guys,

As some of you may be aware, DVD Crave had a security breach earlier this year which compromised some credit card details.

As a result, there is been an understandable, reduced public confidence with them.

In response, I emailed them about this (remember they are still offer some very attractively priced DVD & HD DVD offers) and this is the response I received from Daniel Venning of DVD Crave:

"I thank you for your email and assistance in attempting to help us regain some trust with our previous customers.

I understand we have let them down, and its going to some time for many of them to trust us again. Obviously we did not intend for this to happen and have been let down by the developers of our site. We are in the process of having a completely new site written and should be up in the next 6 months or so. We can not run from this situation, but can learn from it, and put procedures and hardware in place to protect our clients sensitive information..rest assured we are doing all we can to right our wrong"

One must applaude their honesty and determination to put things right...for my part I have already placed orders with them, and I will let you know how things progress.

Keep you minds open

The only reason I see why they have let people down is not informing the customers. A simple email would have done.

Yeah, when I emailed them about it they sent me their standard form reply which they sent to everyone who moaned at them:
http://www.avforums.com/forums/showp...3&postcount=33

And to date I've not had a reply to the email I sent back to them on the 12th Oct:
http://www.avforums.com/forums/showp...5&postcount=34

You won't see me using them again in a hurry.

Indeed! When this happened with DVD Pacific in 2004 they emailed all customers (and my Nationwide CC was defrauded of about £300 on purchases identical to those reported by other Pacific customers), and notified us of new security measures being put in place. That was enough to keep my business.
