Royal Mail suck

Is there anything that can be done about these strikes as a consumer?

I know theres a court injunction preventing the official strikes next week, but the asshats in Liverpool are holding wildcat strikes. I know they have legitimate reasons and the executives are bigger asshats, but surely there must be some way to get our post.

I'm waitng on about a dozen DVDs and frankly I'll be lucky if I see any of them before November, if at all. (last time there was a strike, I had to claim for missing dvds)

Can Royal Mail be held responsible? The way I see it they are illegally holding our property while it is being held in the sorting offices.

Correct me if I'm wrong please.

Re: Royal Mail suck

There's been a few lenghty threads over in General Chat about the strikes giving views on both sides.

I'm sure many of us are in the same boat as you with regards to outstanding dvds. Especially with cdwow literally giving many of theirs away recently.

I personally am waiting on quite a few. But think about all the businesses that rely on the post. I run a business that pays deposits and commissions by post and without those appearing my business is in turmoil. And I know there are a lot of businesses in worse off positions than me.

I've personally tried to not have a view either way on the strikes as everyone deserves the right to strike for what they believe is right but if this carries on for much longer I'm afraid their going to find sympathy from the general public (well, me for one.) is going to be in rather short supply.

Re: Royal Mail suck

well I work for The Pools and we are being messed around by this strike, how do you get a postal entry in without the post?.

I wonder how many hospital appointments are being affected by this? The appointments system is crap as it is, this is going to make it worse.

Royal Mail need new management, they care more about the managers than the people who actually do the work in the company, much like every other business in the UK.

As said, there are already several threads on the Royal Mail strikes, so closing this one.
