Has anyone thoughts or experience of {**URL removed**}

I was just wondering as while some of the box-sets etc seem very well priced . However, one or two things dont seem right! the paypal preferred over credit card payments (I do realise that many of the products do resemble the foreign official dvds on ebay so maybe its just a glorified ebay seller)(p.s. would using that mean you lose the credit protection) and if you look at the back picture of galactica season 3 it shows a picture of an early USS Enterprise (though its definitley the galactica box).

Also the apparent lack of contact details apart from the form while declaring that all customs etc are paid!

I have had the same thoughts, my friend showed me the site having ordered 5 DVD's yesterday, today he recieved an email saying they are sending a free dvd with his order. The website looks suspicious and i would not order from it but i shall let you know how he gets on.

Web address removed. They look very dodgy.

Particularly as every DVD I looked at has this in small writing:

"Note: Asian edition and the contents are the same as US version. Actual picture might be different from the stock photo"

Re: Has anyone thoughts or experience of {**URL removed**}

I stumbled across the site today. ordered a right rake of dvd's from them. I presumed the 'Asian' disk is reffering to Region 3 which are the ones i normally get cheaper from CDWOW anyway. Anyways, i'll see what comes of them. Least you can get cash back of paypal if it all goes pear shaped. I know it doesnt cost much to produce a DVD anyhow. All the cost is tax and profit. Time will tell if the site is legit. I'll keep ya informed to.

Mega, by any chance did you happen to stumble across it via the "google ads" area in "Find-dvd" if this turns out to be more of the market back of van type dvds than the official foreign sort. That would be an interesting situation

Asian can also mean bootlegs. Ebay has thousands off them. If they were region 3 then it should say so on the site. It sounds like they are not when they are offering films not availabe yet.

These are absolutely bootlegs. You can't be serious that you think for a minute that they aren't? These places usually operate for a time until they get shut down and then they start harvesting all your payment details.

Re: Has anyone thoughts or experience of {**URL removed**}

Well i just recieved my 1st batch this morning. Cant fault them. They are DVD-9 mainly with all subtitles and dolby digital language options. Come in the card dvd sleeve with a dvd cover to put in a plastic case. Absolutely bob on. Tried Die Hard 4 and everythin is just DVD. Cases are all embossed as normal and glossy. Picture and sound awesome. Certainly not from a cinema. Tried same with others and it was same story- 28 days later, simpsons movie, spiderman 3 etc... Only one i did have prob with out of the 16 i ordered was Evans Almighty. Sadly its only Russian 5.1 and english dolby 2 which it does say on the box. Im happy with my new supplier. Already ordered another 9 from them. Anybody else recieved any yet?

Moderator's Comment All of the description given here leaves me in little doubt these are in fact bootleg copies. AVForums has a strict policy on this matter. Whilst we clearly can't enforce anything to prevent the amoral activities of those who produce and sell these items, nor those whose purchases help fund the drugs trafficing and other reprehensible activities that typically accompany trade in pirate discs, what we CAN and do do, is prohibit discussion.

Closing thread.
