Does anyone else here use DVD Soon?

Well, if you have any orders or refunds outstanding, I suggest you report them to Reporting Economic Crime Online (RECOL) as they finally appear to have disappeared, taking a helluva lot of customers' dosh with them.

All the site shows now is a notice that the site is " Temporarily out of service for upgrades".

It goes on:

"Unfortunately, the site DVDSoon.com is temporarily down to implement our new payment system.

Our systems administrator are working as quickly as possible to restore the service. We deeply apologize for the inconvenience this might cause and hope to see you again soon.

We will be back online shortly.

- Sincerely, The DVDSoon.com Team "

The general opinion is that they have gone for good.

The site is working again, there have been a few changes to the orders section in accounts but still no refund option.

Yeah the site's back up. Others have reported that all pending orders have been cancelled due to "incompatibility" with the new payment system. A friend tells me he has a pending order since June 20th still there though.

Their t&c's state "DVD Soon does not give refunds".

Nice one.

My pending order from 25th June is still there too

I got this "standard" email when I asked for a refund:

--
Dear Sir;

We apologize for the present confusion and frustrations our current
service has caused. Over the next few weeks a new payment system will
be implemented on our site. Due to a large client demand, your credit
card will no longer be charged when you place the order but when the
order is shipped. Evidently, this implies major technical modifications
that can cause temporary delays of some of our operations such as credit
card refunds.

However, we are working to ensure that these changes will be done as
soon as possible, and we hope that the implementation of the new system
will meet the needs of our clients. Please be assured that we
continuously strive to improve the quality of our services, and that we
will inform you once the new system is available. If there is anything
else please do contact us once again.

Latest message from their website:

"August 12, 2005.

We are happy to announce the implementation of our new payment system. Due to popular demand, your orders will now be charged at the time of shipment instead of at the time of the order.

However, due to compatibility and accounting reasons all pending orders had to be canceled. Unfortunately it was impossible to overlap the two different payment systems. Credits have been issued to your DVDSoon account so that you may replace your orders once again. In order to help you locate the items that have been canceled you will now have access to a list of canceled orders and their contents in your account"

I cancelled one order prior to this which I have been given a dvdsoon credit for but I still have a pending order which hasn't been cancelled so I haven't got a clue what's happening.

Last e-mail I had from them included this statement

"Rest assure that we are not going bankurpt" make of that what you will.

PS Their typo not mine!

Nice one.
Isn`t this illegal??

I had a problem with DVDSoon so I sent them an email stating that if the amount was not recredit to card in five working days then I would inform my credit card of a fraudulant transaction and persue legal action.
Surprise, surprise the funds appeared on the fifth day.

I will not be using them again which is a pity as they were on of my favourite e-retailers

I suppose I am one of the lucky ones.

I had my credit refund request back onto my credit card yesterday. It was only £16 but it was worth it as I wasn't going to use them again.

A lucky escape I feel!

Can't get into my account again Password and username are correct. Last time it happened they suggested a windows update. They are probably busy doing one of their special refunds to my account. You know the type where they give you a credit but whatever you order instead won't arrive

I haven't used them for a couple of months, and will be unlikely to in the near future given the current level of their prices and the amount of complaints that are being registered on this forum.

Preaching to the perverted. Sorry converted Placed my first order with them last week and received the bulk of the order Friday, one item left to arrive and that should be with me before Wednesday.
