DVD Soon - Going to the dogs???

Had to contact DVD Soon re. a pre-ordered new release from June 14th, that still hasn't arrived in stock.

Had to contact them several times over the last few months for similar reasons. After two e-mails from me, this was their reply:
Dear Sir.
Quote:
Our apologies for the delay in receiving your product. This item is estimated to arrive in stock 2 - 4 weeks from the order date. Once the product is on hand, the order will go into packaging. You will be notified of its departure via e-mail. I apologize for the inconvenience. If you need anything else please do contact me once again.
(By "...2 - 4 weeks from the order date..." I'm presuming they mean Release Date, if it was 2-4 weeks from when I'd ordered it I'd have received it by now.)

My reply to them:
Quote:
Thank you for your reply.

I’m afraid the item arriving in stock 2-4 weeks after the release date is not good enough. You encourage pre-ordering of new releases, take the money from our credit cards at the time of order, then expect us to wait up to a month after release date? A ridiculous state of affairs.

Sorry, but as I said this is not good enough. This is not the first time I have had to contact you regarding this, so there is plainly no incentive to order new releases from DVD Soon anymore. Amazon and CD Wow will get my business from now on and I will use your company for back catalogue items only.

As I stated in my previous correspondence, from the many comments on Internet DVD forums, your company is losing a lot of good will and a lot of custom. You’ve now lost a lot of mine. You really need to get your act together guys.

Yours, etc...
This was once a great company to deal with but they have now become frustrating in the extreme.

I personally think they've improved recently - with Lois & Clark, Hitch, Coyote Ugly and many more I've ordered all arriving within 3 days of shipping and all shipping either on the day of release or a day or so either side of it.

I think they do operate a lot on a first come first served basis - but for example, a movie I ordered last night is already in packaging.

Sounds like you've just been unlucky - but I do also know where you are coming from.

I've had plenty of stuff come quickly too, but this is especially annoying as this has happened several times.

We're talking new releases they have NEVER had in stock yet, not just my order being delayed. Will still use them for stuff, just not pre-orders. Too hit and miss.

i do agree that its annoying when the pre-orders turn to "on order" for however long. blatantly they know you've ordered the dvd before its release date, so can't they place an order with their supplier then, rather than wait till the release?

I agree Pauley. I have had numerous items that have taken ages to get dispatched. Two items took 2 months from release date on separate occasions.

They are turning into a joke of a company IMHO, and as far as I am concerned, they will never get my custom again. I have even gone as far as a chargeback on one item, had the money refunded to my card, yet the item the chargeback corresponds to is still "on order" in my account page there.

That crystallises their incompentence for me.

Ive had an order 'pending' for two months now.
I sent them an email but no reply, now in the order status part of the website the 'on order' line is not there but the order is still in pending.
Should i be concerned? How long do they take to reply to emails because ive beedn waiting two weeks!

I also have been having problems with DVDSoon. I order two DVD from thier 2 for $16 range over 2 weeks ago. Having gotten the confirmation email and having my account debited I was expecting a quick (relatively) transaction.

The problems started when the order never showed up in my account so I sent them an email to find out what was going on. Having had no response for five days I have sent another email threatening to inform my credit card company.

It would seem though DVDSoon are explanding into other areas so my advice would be to not use them until they sorted out these problems, after all they are not that cheap anymore

Here`s hoping

Thanks for your reply.

Any got any orders with them at the moment that are still listed as 'on order'.
On my order it did say 'on order' but now it does not - and its still sitting there on 'pending' after two months, what does that mean??!??

Apparently after about 60 days, any items that are still listed as "on order" get cancelled and you get a refund of store credit on your account. It is possible to transfer this store credit to your card, and can be done quite easily from your account area.

I did this after an item of mine was cancelled and transferred the money back to my credit card, as I have no intention of using their "service" again.

I rang them last night (which cost a fortune because they are in Canada) and they told me the item was in warehouse B and they they would look into it but it might not be this week!
I said it has been two months and her reply was 'we are quite slow at the moment'!

This is the last time i use them, thats for sure.

i called them before too after many emails were not returned... and when they replied it was totally unsatisfactory! the replies normally run along the gamut of "i'm sorry sir but [insert problem here] and there's nothing much we can do about it (basically they do not explain why there is such a problem in the 1st place)"

anyway, like i said... i called them one time and all the operator did was to talk non-stop and i couldn't even get my questions in. i wld view the whole episode as totally hilarious (u know... a scene from one of those comedies) if i wasn't in such a bad mood over the whole sorry affair.

they charged me cad 99.98 for the ifidelity card! and when i emailed them about it, all they could say was "as you can see, the membership price had been increased to cad 99.98"... i mean ***?!?!? that was the problem in the 1st place!!! i was willing to swallow that loss til 2 weeks ago i went to their site again and saw that it's now cad 49.98 again! i asked for my membership date to be push back 3 weeks (since that's how long they took to approve my membership!) but the answer is no... i asked for a refund for the membership fee and i got the answer above... and btw i had to send my paperwork to them 3 times in a mth! anyway, that's it for me! amazon may be more expensive but the service is certainly betta!

goodbye dvdsoon... and good riddance!

That is bad mate, i'd definately get in touch with your card issuer over that!
