regio free dvd players/recorders

I am unable to find a regio-free DVD player/recorder in the U.S. We got regio 1 there which is not compatible with the PAl format. I have a source in The Netherland who can modify any DVD player/recorder preferrably Philips from a Regio 2 to a Regio free system. Question is ,before I purchase a dvd system here in Holland for modification, will any TV's in the US now be compatible with the Regio free modified DVD's?

Its not the Region you really have to worry about, its the picture format, US uses NTSC and the UK uses PAL and even though most TVs in the UK can handle NTSC the same cant be said for the US, very few TVs can handle a PAL signal so if you get a multi-region dvd player/recorder you must first make sure your TV can handle a PAL signal.
