What's all that about?

A while ago I placed an order on Amazon.de for 2 DVD sets. Today I cancelled & re-ordered adding 1 more DVD to the 2. Everything was fine, until they mailed me to say that they were shipping part of the order, without extra shipping charge. I thought this was sweet (Aviator on pre-order was the other DVD) I checked the status of my order to find out that the order had gone up by £9.00. I mailed them asking what was going on & they said it was Tax Now I don't speak German or understand much about Tax, but they have taxed me an extra £9.00 on what they had already taxed me when completing my initial order Is this correct, or are they wrong?

P.S I've mailed them & asked them, but they keep replying in German
