Post Best e-tailer of 2004!

So it's almost the end of another year, a year which has proved to be a good one for us DVD enthusiasts. Prices have taken a huge dip this year, with brand new dvd's now retailing for about £13 online and the region 3 market has taken a huge step forward as a viable competitor to regions 1 and 2.

2005 will probably see further reductions, but may also see us saying goodbye to a few dvd suppliers, especially dvdsoon who are re-introducing shipping charges which is probably the only reason anyone accepted their delivery delays.

But putting all that aside; this year, which online retailer has proved the best in terms of price, reliability, special offers, quickness of delivery, customer service, that's right - the whole shebang? Who is the number 1 e-tailer of 2004?

Ive only really used DVD Planet. (US Region 1 only) Any Japanese region 2 DVDs I buy where I live.

DVD planet has been good to me so far. Good prices and they were kind enough to send me another copy of a DVD that arrived scrached in the box. (the disk had come loose inside)
They didnt charge me anything for the new copy, and they didnt ask me to send the damaged one back!

In terms of RRP the prices have not gone down some are now £24.99 or higher!

However the actual price in the online stores seems to be constantly dropping not only for new releases but for just about every DVD. That includes Disney DVds who usually price fix by limiting their stock and letting them go out of print after a certain amount of time!

It's a no-brainer for me, I voted for CD wow as they are constantly excellent in every area especially price and customer service.

Movietyme Gary for number 1 e-tailer of 2004 ....don't make me laugh

Gary
those two were both in my original list but the list was in my head which is a flawed place to store lists.. if any mods would like to add those two to the list, that would be cool.

Movietyme is my current favourite, reasonable prices and fast delivery.

I think The Disc Emporium are very good for customer service but unfortunately prices are a little higher on select titles.

CD Wow are also great.

1st = Dvdpacific for me even with the secruity problems. (i got hit along with a lot of other people) They are cheap and with fast delivery and they stock all those odd horror and anime titles i love.
2nd = Cdwow - great service and cheap prices - only down points are very limited selection of titles and they keep running out of stock so you have to wait longer to get the dvds you wanted.
