dvdsoon - i got my first import tax from RM

finally got my star wars delivered from dvdsoon, except i had to pay an extra 4.25 customs fee and 4.00 RM handling fee, this is the first time i have ever been caught out with dvdsoon, i usually order all my boxsets from them any only yesterday i just ordered from them LOTR ROTK EX BOX, Matrix 10 discer and friday the 13th boxset!!! these are gonna cost me more then getting them from UK suppliers if i get the import taxes!!!

anyone else had this problem too>>>

when was your SWT dispatched from DVDsoon?

Mine was dispatched from DVDsoon on the 15th Sept and I'm still waiting.

I got hit with customs on my 3rd order of a box set (Rocky Gift Box) I paid £10.86 if I remember right.

Did your packaging have a "lid" stuck on the top with a flap down the side?

Mine fell off!

If that's all you paid you shouldn't have got hit! That's well under the 18 pound limit. You should write to Customs and appeal because they should not have charged you.

I suppose this new crackdown from Customs was inevitable which is why I don't order items over £18 from out of the country

I've just been ripped off (sorry, charged) by PO & Customs for the first time ever. DVD Soon. Alec Guinness Collection, £26.00. There's an £8.98 charge on it!

Magicmushrooms I stand corrected. It was Alien Quadrilogy from DVDPacific that got hit with Customs and not Rocky from DVDsoon.

I think Tardis meant his customs charges were £10.86 rather than the price he paid for the boxset.

Finally got a card through the post saying a package is at the Sorting Office for which I know will be my SWT fron DVDsoon. Been hit with £7.88 Customs.

At least it didn't go walkabouts as I was beginning to fear.

Strange, I ordered my SWT from DVD soon and got it delivered a day after it was released with no custom charges.

exactly, it's always a gamble if it's over £18
