Anyone ordered Shawshank Limited set from dvdsoon?

If any forum members have ordered the Shawshank Limited edition 3 disc set from dvdsoon who may want to check your account. I ordered this set weeks ago and it's now showing on my account as discontinued. I've never had an email from them to say there's a problem with this title, but it looks like for what ever reason they're not going to be stocking this title.

I've now placed an order with amazon who are advertising the set at $31.49, which still comes under the customs limit. Not as cheap as the dvdsoon price, but better to be safe then sorry.

According to the dvdsoon Q&A on DVD Swaps, it's been discontinued:

Quote:
Hi,

The studio have cancelled the limited version of this product. We have learned it yesterday.

I am sorry for the inconvenience.

Have a nice weekend.

I really don't understand dvdsoons explanation. The set is still available eveywhere else. Only dvdsoon are listing it as discontinued!

I would think it's very doubtful that Warner would cancel this set at this late stage. All the discs are surely pressed and packaged by now.

I think it may just be not available in Canada, US suppliers such as amazon.com and movietyme might be able to get it.

What's the difference between the uk 3 disc set, (£14 from Play), and the USA set?

The UK version has a extra DVD disk with cast interviews, DTS (pretty pointless for this film), directors comentary (don't think this is on any other version), while the limited US edition comes with the (rather excellent) soundtrack. Personally I'd go for the UK version and buy the soundtrack seperatley.

Oh, and the new UK release has an excellent picture.

Werid, cause I had mine at the begining of last week, I guess play must have broken the release date.

There could be a significant difference in picture quality between the region 1 Warner release and the Granada region 2. Warner quality is usually of a very high standard these days, but there won't be any definitive answers until the region 1 is released and some one does a comparison review between the two. I would wager that the Warner release come out on top, but the region 2 does bennefit with the dts track!

This is one of my favourite films of all time, so I'll be buying both.
