Any Amazon.co.uk orders shipped yet?

Hiya,

I'm one of the amazon.co.uk faithful who pre-ordered from them after they guaranteed to have the DVDs to us on release day (Monday). I'm guessing that this means they will actually ship tomorrow (mine still says dispatching soon) but I wondered if anyone who ordered with them had seen their orders ship yet? Like earlier today or anything?

I'll be pretty narked if it's not here Monday, but delighted if by some miracle it turns up tomorrow. Hehe...

Seems both Play & Amazon are holding back until Monday. Probably means most of them won't arrive on peoples doormats until midweek.

The difference being Play (as far as I'm aware) didn't guarantee to have it on peoples doormats on release day. Amazon did, both in promotional e-mails and on their website. People don't have much grounds to be mad at Play (they made no guarantees, people were just assuming they'd ship early because they often do) but if Amazon don't get it to people for Monday then people have every right to be cross.

I know people have been discussing returning late delivered product for refunds and whether that would be appropriate. The Amazon customers are probably the only people who could contemplate this. One could argue that in failing to deliver the product on the date promised (if that is indeed what happens, hey it ain't Monday yet) that Amazon are in breach of contract.

I know at the end of the day it's only DVDs but I got my first DVD player in 1997 and I've waited long enough.

I may be making a trip to MVC or something on Monday if my Amazon ones don't arrive. "There will be no-one to stop us this time, Commander!"

Yup, I got the time from the e-mail, I suspect they have quite a few to process so I wouldn't worry about the exact time. I'm sure they'll all be handed over to Royal Mail today.
